Hats Off!

Last year, I took a risk and invested in an adorable straw top hat from East Hampton's Scoop (confession: it was in the men's section). I love it, and always throw it on when going to the beach or incognito.

Recently, when shopping around, I came across a large floppy beach hat. I tried it on and sort of loved it, but put it back and moved on without much thought.

Since then, however, I haven't been able to stop thinking about that wide-rimmed hat.  I never considered myself to be much of a hat person, but after my success with my current men's style cap I think I may invest in another.

Though I passed up the opportunity to but the first hat, I've been looking around for the perfect accessory that I can rotate with my current cap.  Here are some of the options I've found so far.

Senior Spring

I know I haven't posted all week, but what a busy week it's been!  A fun one, but busy busy busy.

For one, my sister and I headed to the Kiss 108 concert last weekend. We had such a blast, and have a newfound love for David Guetta- what's better than a French DJ/producer?

I then had my official last days of school! It feels great to be out, and after my last burst of projects and assignments, it feels great to be funny finished and have no work left.

Finally, I went to my boyfriend's prom on Thursday. We had so much fun, and the pictures turned out really well (more to come later).

The next day, the two of us headed to Provincetown, Cape Cod for a day trip. It was such a beautiful day and we had an absolute blast.

Overall, the past week has been an amazing one, and there's only more fun to come- my prom, graduation, many grad parties and festivities, and the beginning of an amazing summer!

BodyRock Sport

Thanks to the wonderful Hannah, I have been introduced to Kelly Dooley (pictured above) and BodyRock Sport, her brand of stylish yet practical activewear for cycling (the Spin 'Em Out collection), triathlons (the H20 Collection and the Dominate ‘Em Collection), and yoga (the Yoganista Collection).

BodyRock also features lines of accessories, leggings and jackets including the Rip 'Em Off, Seduce 'Em with Sass, Show 'Em Some Swagger, Show 'Em Who's Boss leggings, and the Eternal Love Collection, a collaboration with Knight&Hammer.
Aside from having the most fabulous collection names possible, BodyRock is really every girl's dream workout wear. I mean, the whole point of going to the gym is to help us feel healthier and better about ourselves, right? BodyRock lets us feel even more fabulous in the process, and distracts us from our burning muscles.

One of my favorite parts of BodyRock is that the fabulous line doesn't stop at yoga pants and sweatshirts. Rather, it includes a whole line of incredible sports bras, many of which are featured in the new Spring '11 collection.

As a dancer, I'm often stuck wearing a black leotard, black ballet shorts, and a pair of pink tights, which gives very little room for individuality and style. These bras are the answer to my dilemma- can you imagine wearing one of the next few numbers under an open-back leotard? Insta-fab, that's for sure. And after class, I can just swap the leotard for a low-cut top and I'm ready to hit the town with my BodyRock flashing.

I do!

Now that my school year has basically ended, I have had a lot of extra time to relax and catch up on my TiVO recordings. With that, I have developed a new love for weddings shows, courtesy of TLC.

The first show that's been taking up my time, which is one that I've actually been watching at a lesser extent for some time now, is Say Yes to the Dress.

Basically, Kleinfeld's consultants with thick New York accents throw gaggles of overzealous brides into $3-30,000 dresses while their mothers and bridesmaids cry and criticize in the background.

Though some of the brides' stories are endearing and actually relatable, a majority highlight the most hectic, insane and melodramatic aspects of the bridal world. The show is juicy, entertaining, and speaks to every girl's inner diva (especially when the show involves Pnina's).

The second show is another TLC series, Four Weddings.

In this show, four brides attend each other's weddings and then score each wedding based on overall experience, food, venue and the dress (of course). The bride with the highest score then wins an exotic honeymoon with her groom (remember him? Because sometimes, these weddings shows don't seem to).

The magic in this show is in seeing what each bride values, how they try to make their weddings special and how they assess every other bride's effort. Plus, some of the weddings are just plain wacky, and you're always left wondering what the bride was thinking.

I may have at least a decade left until I plan my own wedding, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy watching other brides in action. Plus, it is oh, so entertaining. Thanks, TLC!

Senior Banquet

Last Friday was my Senior Banquet, a day when the almost-graduated class gets together to eat, dance, and watch a slideshow of old pictures.

Though it's hard to get the full effect of it in pictures, my dress was gorgeous and I'm sort of in love with it. Plus, it looked adorable when I twirled.

Who Needs Pants?

I just saw this amazing diagram on The FFJD and had to share it. All credit goes to her, I'm just one of the many girls who faces this question every day.

Mother's Day

For mother's day, my sister, cousin and parents headed over to the Beehive, a fun jazz club on Tremont St. The food was delicious, the live band was great, the local was adorable, and the company was wonderful :)

Happy Mother's Day to the best mother I know!

Mmm, Minty!

Blue has always been my go-to color for clothing. I look best in blue, it's easy enough to mix other colors with blue, and there are so many shades to choose from.

This season, however, I've found myself leaning away from blue, and after purchasing a 'lovely' necklace from Forever 21, I fully entered the sea of green. Mint green, specifically.
